Twin screw wet extruder machines are commonly used in the
production of puffed feed. The materials are transported through
conveying equipment to the conditioner, where they are tempered by
high-temperature steam and enter the puffing mechanism through a
chute. Under a pair of parallel meshing screw pumps, they are
instantly extruded and cut into particles from a certain shape of
mold holes. There are many factors that affect the expansion of
materials, but they are mainly closely related to the conditioning
conditions, operating conditions of the extruder, and material
properties. Changing the extrusion conditions can control the
sinking and floating properties of puffed feed.

1. Extrusion and expansion processing is a processing process that
processes raw materials through high temperature, high pressure,
and instant ripening, integrating transportation, crushing,
extrusion, mixing, shearing, high-temperature disinfection, and
molding.
2. It can process viscous, high fat, and high moisture raw
materials.
3. Good water resistance. Aquatic feed particles can maintain good
stability in water, and both sinking and floating feed can remain
non collapsible after soaking in water for 24 hours, maintaining
aquaculture water quality and reducing feed waste.
4. Higher digestibility. It improves the digestibility of
substances such as starch and protein, and the strong squeezing
effect can degrade some compact cellulose, keratin, etc., greatly
improving the digestibility.
5. Excellent palatability. The puffed pellet product has the
characteristics of porosity and uniform texture, and produces some
aromatic substances, which increases the feed's attractivity,
stimulates the appetite of aquatic animals, and increases feed
intake.
6. Expanded the scope of raw material utilization. The twin screw
expansion function processes materials containing excessive
moisture, oil, or cellulose into other forms of aquatic feed,
enriching feed resources.
